Government Relations Officer

Government Relations Officer is responsible for managing the company’s relationships and transactions with Saudi government authorities. The role ensures that all government-related requirements, permits, licenses, employee documentation, and regulatory obligations are completed accurately and on time in accordance with applicable Saudi regulations.
Key Responsibilities & Authorities
- Manage government-related transactions with relevant Saudi authorities and government platforms.
- Process and maintain employee residency, work permits, visas, and other official documentation.
- Handle company licenses, certificates, registrations, renewals, and government approvals.
- Coordinate with government entities such as MHRSD, GOSI, Qiwa, Muqeem, Absher Business, ZATCA, Balady, and other relevant authorities.
- Monitor expiry dates for licenses, permits, registrations, visas, and employee documents and ensure timely renewal.
- Support employee onboarding, transfers, exits, and other employment-related government procedures.
- Prepare and submit required government forms, applications, and supporting documents.
- Maintain accurate records of government transactions and employee/company documentation.
- Keep management informed of relevant regulatory or procedural changes affecting the company.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, Legal, and other departments on government-related matters.
- Resolve government-related issues and follow up on applications, approvals, and pending transactions.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of official company and employee documents.
- Ensure all government transactions are conducted in compliance with Saudi laws and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, HR, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in government relations/GRO roles in Saudi Arabia.
- Good knowledge of Saudi government procedures and relevant electronic platforms.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work with government authorities and handle confidential documentation.
- Good Arabic and English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Saudi driving license is an advantage, depending on the role.

- Knowledge of Saudi government platforms.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
- Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
- Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
- Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
