PipeCare Group is looking for an experienced FPGA & SOC Developer to join our team.
By providing technology and service focused solutions to the international arena of the oil and gas industry, the PipeCare Group of companies has been helping our customers ensure the integrity of their pipeline and facility assets for over 20 years.
Industry/sector: Oil & Gas / In Line Inspection services.
Summary: PIPECARE Group front-end R&D team works on developing technologies related to      In-line Inspection (ILI) and Non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment and services. We are looking for a dedicated FPGA Design Engineer. As a member of our fast-paced team, you will have a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of new projects and shape upcoming ILI and NDT technologies.
The FPGA & SOC Developer is responsible for development, debugging and implementation of high-reliability FPGA & SOC embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities
  • Work closely with firmware, hardware, and algorithms teams to create groundbreaking technologies and systems in the ILI and NDE fields.
  • Develop, debug, and implement high-reliability FPGA and SoC embedded systems.
  • Bring up new boards and products from initial concept through production.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot firmware bugs and issues after product deployment.
  • Review, study, and modify legacy firmware source code with minimal or no prior documentation.
  • Professionally document the firmware development process.

Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, Computer engineering, Computer science or relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in FPGA based embedded system development.
  • Excellent HDL (VHDL, Verilog) coding skills and knowledge.
  • Hands on experience with Xilinx EDAs (Vivado, Vitis).
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx IPs and Xilinx IP integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Zynq SOCs.
  • Ability to develop and implement DSP algorithms targeted for FPGA based embedded systems.
  • Ability to understand PCB, schematics, and having general hardware knowledge to contribute to debugging and bringing up new boards and products.
  • Ability to use debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers to trace problems that can be in hardware or firmware (HDL).
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to design the FPGA related PCBs.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
  • Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.

Inspection Technologies

Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL): Detects and sizes general corrosion and metal loss anomalies, especially circumferentially oriented.

Transverse Field Inspection (TFI): Detects and sizes general corrosion and metal loss anomalies, primarily axially oriented.
